Women perform 66% of the world’s work, but receive only 11% of the world’s income, and own only 1% of the world’s land.
Women make up 66% of the world’s illiterate adults.
Women head 83% of single-parent families. The number of families nurtured by women alone doubled from 1970 to 1995 (from 5.6 million to 12.2 million).
Women account for 55% of all college students, but even when women have equal years of education it does not translate into economic opportunities or political power.
There are six million more women than men in the world.
Two-thirds of the world’s children who receive less than four years of education are girls. Girls represent nearly 60% of the children not in school.
Parents in countries such as China and India sometimes use sex determination tests to find out if their fetus is a girl. Of 8,000 fetuses aborted at a Bombay clinic, 7,999 were female.
Wars today affect civilians most, since they are civil wars, guerrilla actions and ethnic disputes over territory or government. 3 out of 4 fatalities of war are women and children.
Rape is consciously used as a tool of genocide and weapon of war. Tens of thousands of women and girls have been subjected to rape and other sexual violence since the crisis erupted in Darfur in 2003. There is no evidence of anyone being convicted in Darfur for these atrocities.
About 75% of the refugees and internally displaced in the world are women who have lost their families and their homes.
Gender-based violence kills one in three women across the world and is the biggest cause of injury and death to women worldwide, causing more deaths and disability among women aged 15 to 44 than cancer, malaria, traffic accident, and war.

This is how every photo-set on tumblr will look like if any anti-internet bill is passed.

It would be a world with no cat gifs, no tumblr porn, no hilarious memes, no GPOYs, no movie stills with captions, and no instantgram. It would be world without personality and freedom. A boring and oppressive world where the government tells us what to do every step of the way.

A Writer

As i grow up, i really dream about being a writer. How they able to explore in to their imagination and put it in to words. That’s difficult. I mean, i sometimes thought about good things but when i’m trying to write it down, it is gone. It’s either i forget it or words for that thought doesn’t really exist at all. I just felt it that’s all. It’s just a feeling.

That’s why i admire writers. I realized that i need to things before i can be one. So when i was in Highschool i started reading. I started joining school writing contest. Though i never won, i’m still happy. Because i’m beggining to really love writing.

Then i started writing poems. Composing songs. But i lost all of them. Either my friends have it or i simply misplaced it. Now i regret it. I should keep it all. So that i can track my improvement (if there is) or even review it for further learning.

For a year now i’m back to reading again. Coelho’s (my fave.), Sheldon’s, Dicken’s etc. I forget about writing for a while. Until I’ve read this article about how to write. There’s bunch of tips on how to start.

No 1. says that i need to read alot.

No 2. says i need to write in the morning. Morning is the best time in writing.

etc.

So this morning i woke up. Brush my teeth. Wash my face. Have a cup of coffee. Grab my laptop and started writing.

I’ve been thinking about an idea for days. And that is what my story is all about. I’m not gonna spill anything for now. But that’s it. I’m really starting to write.

Today is January 14, 2012. the day that i’m on my way to my dream.

Photoshop Tutorial

Haha. LOL. May mali. May mali talga. And i’m sure hindi ako yon. Haha. Yung photoshop yon! JK

Sa ngayon matutulog akong biguan. Pero di ko susukuan yan. Aral lang ng aral. Masaya naman ako kahit ganun nangyari. Kasi may bago nanaman akong libangan. Natatakot kasi akong mabored. Coz it’s a negative feeling. I don’t wanna attract negative things.

I’m sleeping tonight with excitement. It’s Page 13 of 366. So much lucks to come.
